School Social Work Services

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide social services and assistance in order to improve the social/emotional functioning of children and their families and to maximize the family well-being, and the academic functioning of children.  We are student advocates.  We help promote maximum development through the utilization of all available resources, whether they are based in the home, the school, or the community.

School Social Workers:

  • address barriers within the child, home, and community that interfere with student achievement.

  • address individual student needs to facilitate learning in conjunction with school administrators to identify problem areas and possible solutions that would address concerns.

  • promote better lines of communication between the student, parent, and school to gain an understanding of rules and expectations.                                 

Services for Students and Families

  • Initiate contact with community agencies for students and families that might need a referral.

  • Assess students’ social and emotional wellness.

  • Assist student and parent regarding any staffing or meeting processes.

  • Make home visits with campus staff

  • Identification of homeless students to assess needs and coordinate services. 

  • Make transportation arrangements for homeless students.

  • Attend LINC staffing with students and parents.
