2023-2024 Goals

The DAC aims to guide the office of Advanced Academics in providing and promoting communication with both parents and teachers of gifted students in LISD. During the 2023-2024 school year, we addressed:

  • The mission and goals for G/T services in Lubbock ISD to complete the service handbook;

  • The adoption of a new evaluation system for G/T identification;

  • New resources available to both parents and teachers as of the 2023-2024 school year; and,

  • Visibility of policies, procedures and service overviews via the Lubbock ISD website and/or board policy documentation.

When Are DAC Meetings?

The G/T DAC meets four times throughout the school year. The 2023-2024 school year meetings were held at Commander William C. McCool Academy at 6pm.

Membership

Members serve for 1 year at a time, beginning August 1st. There are 4 meetings annually, typically lasting 1 hour each.
