Student Behavior Support Parent Information

"All behavior is a form of communication."

Lubbock ISD's Student Behavior Support Division works with campuses across the district to promote safe, civil, and productive schools. Our team includes a variety of professionals with specialized training in behavior support and mental health, including behavior specialists, social workers, counselors and school psychologists. We work with campuses to create systems for prevention and intervention by

  • helping establish clear expectations for behavior across school settings

  • intentionally reinforcing expected behavior

  • implementing specific interventions and support plans for students in need of specialized support

  • identifying logical responses to unexpected behavior

  • modeling best practice for campus staff

  • providing specialized training

  • collaborating directly with families

  • serving as liaisons between families, schools, and community resources

We are grateful to be able to serve students across all settings in our district, from general education to specialized programs.
