Campus Visitors:

These procedures apply to the Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees, parents, volunteers, social service workers, invited guests/speakers, maintenance and repair persons not employed by the district, vendors, representatives of the news media, former students, and any other non-employee visitors. (BBE LOCAL and GKC LOCAL)

Visitation Times:

Visits to individual classrooms during instructional time will only be permitted with the principal’s and teacher’s approval. Such visits shall not be permitted if the duration and frequency interferes with the delivery of instruction or disrupts the normal classroom and teaching environment.

Visitor Check-ins:

The following are the procedures for visitor management for Lubbock ISD. All visitors are required to follow these procedures and school principals are expected to ensure compliance.

These procedures cannot account for every possible scenario and do not take the place of good judgment and common sense. When in doubt, one should err on the side of caution.

Prominent notices shall be posted at each campus requiring all visitors to first report to the campus administrative office.
All visitors shall report to the school office immediately upon entering the school.
The visitor management sign–in system (School Safe ID) provides visitors with a printed badge and access beyond the school office. It is to be used for visitors planning to enter the common areas of the school where students are present such as: hallways, classrooms, cafeteria, library or other offices, other than those located in the main administrative office.
All visitors will need a valid state-issued driver’s license or a government-issued ID card to use the sign-in system. Visitors will also be required to sign out using the visitor management system when leaving the school.
All visitors will be required to have the produced name tag displayed prominently on their person while in the common areas of the school or in the classroom. Anyone found in the school without a visitor name tag will be directed to the office to complete the visitor sign in. If a visitor refuses to follow the above procedure, they will be asked to leave the campus and Lubbock ISD Police will be notified.
District employees who are visiting a campus to which they are not assigned, should swipe their Lubbock ISD ID card at the visitor management system to sign in. Upon leaving the campus, the district employee will swipe their Lubbock ISD ID to check out.
If a parent or guardian does not or cannot obtain a state-issued driver’s license or state or government ID card, the parent or guardian should see the front office staff who will attempt to verify the person’s identity. If the office staff is unable to establish the identity of the visitor, the visitor shall not have access to the school past the front office.
