Preparing for the next step in his athletic and academic career, Lubbock High School swimmer Jones Lambert signed his National Letter of Intent to swim for the University of Utah in a special ceremony surrounded by friends and family at the Pete Ragus Aquatic Center on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
A four-time NISCA All-American, Lambert is a 12-time district medalist, and a three-time district and regional champion in the 200-meter freestyle and 500-meter freestyle. Lambert has qualified for the state meet in the 200m and 500m free all three years as a Westerner.
As a junior, Lambert claimed state champion titles, as well as state records, in the 200m and 500m free. He took third in the 200m and 500m free at the state meet in 2022 and helped the Westerner 400m free relay team to a third-place finish in 2023.
Lambert enters his senior season as the Lubbock High record holder in the 100m, 200m, and 500m free, 200m medley relay, and 200m and 400m free relays. He also holds the district, regional and state records for the 200m and 500m free events.
