The Lubbock Professional Police Association (LPPA) hosted its 16th annual Big Brother/Big Sister event last Saturday.
This event is where students in the program spend time alongside a local police officer for a day full of fun activities. 16 Lubbock ISD students were paired up with an officer and spent their mornings enjoying breakfast before their fun-filled day of shopping at Barnes and Noble, Academy Sports and Outdoors, and Walmart. At lunch, the team enjoyed a few swings at Golf Suites and ended their day reading holiday stories before they were surprised with brand-new bicycles provided by Yates Flooring. This day is made possible by community partnerships and donations to LPPA. Thank you to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock and LPPA for creating this wonderful day that allows students to enjoy the holiday season while connecting with local officers.
