Last week, many of the schools in Lubbock ISD celebrated Veterans Day by inviting veterans to their campuses and organizing lessons and activities to honor those who have served in the armed forces.
Several schools put on special performances with musical numbers and presentations that highlighted and honored the history of our local veterans. Other campuses engaged in various projects, such as writing pen pal letters with partnered veterans, hosting afterschool celebrations with curated speeches for visiting veterans and welcoming special guests from our local museums to their schools for activities related to the day. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our family members and Lubbock ISD staff members who have served.
