On August 30, 2016 voters decided to allow Lubbock ISD to shift two cents from their current debt service tax rate to their maintenance and operations tax rate and access additional state funding. This shift will keep the tax rate at the same $1.235 level, while generating more than $5.5 million annually into LISD coffers to pay cash for things like technology and priority facility / instructional needs.
