What is Esports?

Esports, short for electronic sports, is a form of competition using video games. Esports often takes the form of organized, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players, played individually or as teams. Esports has recently found great success in the collegiate world and is not taking the high school world by storm.

The CHS Esports program is beginning its second year. Last year, the program saw great success, with 10 students travelling to state from Mario Kart, Overwatch 2, and Tetris. The trophy case at CHS is now home to a Tetris state championship for the Fall 23 season and a second place Tetris trophy for Spring 24. Good things are happening with CHS Esports.
