Nat Williams Elementary School, home of the Wildcats, was constructed in 1975 and named after a former superintendent of the Lubbock Independent School District.  During Mr. William's tenure as superintendent to the district, from 1951-1970, enrollment grew from 12,000 to more than 34,000 students.  Along with this rapid growth in enrollment, thirty-five new schools were built and additions were made to ten other campuses.

Williams Elementary was designated an LISD Magnet School in 1992, which emphasizes Earth Science studies providing an avenue for students to make learning connections beyond the traditional science curriculum. Our magnet curriculum also includes opportunities for students to explore a variety of motivating and creative experiences including KIDZ, a student-operated, in-school television station. Students identified as Gifted and Talented are provided an in-depth and challenging curriculum in a weekly pull-out program. Additionally, our 5th grade students proudly top-off their elementary learning experience with an Earth Science Camp where they spend three days at Camp Blanco.
