Today marks 22 years after the September 11th tragedy. Twenty-two years later, we still remember the men and women who lost their lives and our brave servicemen and women who helped save countless others.

Last week Councilwoman Christy Martinez-Garcia met with Los Hermanos Familias volunteers to donate goodie bags for students in need at Lubbock HS. Thank you for your generosity and community involvement supporting our schools and students.





Whataburger, the Keichler Law Firm, and Reliant Energy celebrated the students and staff at Dunbar CPA on Friday with some amazing donations of lunch, Dunbar swag, Texas Tech game tickets, and $2,500 granted to the campus. Thank you to these amazing community partners for their support of Lubbock ISD!

Thank you to Lubbock Fire Rescue and The Hartford Insurance Group for partnering with us to provide CO2 and smoke detectors to our families through Communities in Schools. This partnership ensures that our families are safe and knowledgeable, and we appreciate this generous donation!

This morning, we celebrated Roy Furr Pioneer Park with a fun ribbon-cutting ceremony. It's safe to say that students from Ramirez Elementary School had a blast on the new playground!

Congratulations to Evans Middle School's 2023 Pentathlon Team for ending the season in ninth place at nationals last spring. They placed first overall at the regional meet which put them fifth overall in the state. Great job, Eagles!

Congratulations to the recently-retired J.J. Johnson on receiving the 2023 Lubbock ISD Athletic Achievement Award. J.J. served as the head softball coach at Coronado High School for 19 years and retired from his role as an assistant athletic director after six years.


Talkington SYWL celebrated its newest 6th-grade members with its annual Transition Ceremony, complete with cheers, a class shirt, and upperclassmen acting as mentors to help adjust to the new school environment.
