Introduction to Art:

Students will cover all the elements and principles of design which include line, shape, form, movement,, texture and color.  They will explore a number of mediums that include pencil, charcoal, oil and chalk pastels, and acrylic and tempra paint.  Various art movements history and imagedry will also be included that include: Pop Art, Pointilism, Abstract, Impressionism, and Graffiti Art.

Intermediate Art:

Is a class of students that have had two or more years of art.  Students are challenged to become more independant about how they approach various projects.  Students will also explore 3xD mediums including paper mache and clay.

Students in both classes will also participate in aa number of exhibits and competitions including the South Plains Fair, Lubbock Arts Festival, First Friday Art Trail, Youth Art Month and VASE.
