History
The name of Wester Elementary School honors the memory of J.K. Wester, superintendent of Lubbock public schools from 1910 to 1914. Built in 1967, the most recent renovations took place in 1997, when 12 classrooms were added and the gymnasium was connected to the main building.
Mission
Wester Elementary’s mission is to provide students with a high quality academic education combined with the arts to produce lifelong learners that value diversity in their community, work collaboratively with others, believe in themselves, and have the skills to compete in a 21st century global community.
