The 2025 bond proposal includes renovations to middle school auditoriums to improve:
✔ Lighting & sound systems for performances and events
✔ Seating & accessibility to create a better experience for students and audiences
✔ Stage & backstage areas to enhance fine arts programs
These spaces serve as hubs for student performances, assemblies, and community events, and the proposed updates would ensure they meet today’s needs.

🏫 What exactly is a school bond? 🏫
A school bond is a funding method that allows school districts to pay for major capital projects—like building renovations, safety improvements, and infrastructure updates—through voter approval.
Think of it like a home mortgage:
✔ The district borrows funds to complete projects.
✔ Bonds are repaid over time using the existing tax structure.
✔ By law, bond funds can only be used for approved capital projects—they cannot fund teacher salaries, classroom supplies, or daily operations.
Lubbock ISD’s 2025 bond proposal will be on the May 3 ballot. Want to learn more? Visit www.LubbockISD.org/2025bond.

✔ Renovate fine arts spaces to support creativity and performance
✔ Upgrade technology infrastructure to enhance digital learning opportunities

🏫 Bond Fact Friday: The Cost of Aging Schools 🏫
Did you know? 63% of Lubbock ISD buildings are more than 60 years old. Maintaining older schools comes with higher costs for repairs, utilities, and upkeep—funds that could otherwise support students and classrooms.
The 2025 bond proposal includes projects to address aging facilities by:
✔ Replacing older schools with modern, more efficient buildings
✔ Upgrading infrastructure like HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
✔ Improving classrooms to support today’s academic and technology needs

🏫 Lubbock ISD looks different today than it did decades ago! 🏫
Student needs, technology, and safety standards have evolved, and our schools have changed along with them. Some of our oldest campuses were built more than 80 years ago, while newer buildings reflect updated designs for modern learning.
Bond elections have funded major facility updates over the years. The May 3, 2025, bond proposal allows voters to decide on additional facility improvements.
