👨‍🍳🛠️🏥 Expanding Hands-On Learning in CTE! 🏥🛠️👨‍🍳 Lubbock ISD’s 2025 bond proposal includes enhancements to Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, helping more students gain real-world skills for future careers. CTE programs are in high demand, with many students eager to enroll in specialized career pathways. If approved, the bond would fund expansions in: ✔ Culinary Arts – Upgraded facilities to support hands-on training in professional cooking and restaurant management. ✔ Advanced Welding – Expanded space and updated equipment to accommodate more students and help them earn industry certifications. ✔ Health Professions – Enhanced labs, learning areas, and new equipment for students preparing for careers in healthcare. These improvements would provide students with modern, industry-aligned learning environments, giving them the tools and experience needed for success after graduation. 📲 Learn more at www.LubbockISD.org/2025bond. #LubbockISD2025Bond #CTE #CareerReady #FutureFocused #WeAreLubbockISD

Lubbock ISD is proud to announce that Evans MS Project Lead the Way (PLTW) educator Nick Wolfe is a February Mrs. Baird's Teachers on the Rise winner! Nominated by Christian Carpenter for his creative and innovative tactics, Mr. Wolfe's strategies help students immensely help students in their academics. 📚👏 This is what Christian had to say about Mr. Wolfe: "I don't even know where to start to tell you about Mr. Wolfe. I mean, by just walking into his classroom you can tell he is not your ordinary teacher. My mindset when going into his class is not, 'I can't wait for this to be over', but instead 'I hope this class never ends'." Join us in congratulating Mr. Wolfe for this well deserved award! We are so proud to have you at Lubbock ISD! 🌟 #WeAreLubbockISD

🏆🌟Lubbock ISD Student Spotlight 🌟🏆 Lubbock HS student Mason Wittie was presented with the Premier Distinction Award by the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) - the highest degree a student can earn in the NSDA Honor Society. This stellar achievement is earned by fewer than 3% of NSDA members before graduation, highlighting Mason's exceptional talent. Mason met the criteria for the award last month through a culmination of merit points from competitions. Mason competed at 16 speech and debate tournaments this year, 17 the previous year, and 11 during his freshman year, along with competing at the state and national tournaments in 2023 and 2024. He has once again qualified for State, Nationals, National Individual Events Tournaments of Champions (NIETOC), and the Tournament of Champions (TOC) - one of the most prestigious competitions in American high school speech and debate tournaments. Join us in congratulating Mason on his exemplary accomplishments! 👏 #WeAreLubbockISD

What a night! The Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees recognized more than 40 students and staff for their academic, UIL, and certification accomplishments during tonight's board meeting. Three teachers were recognized as National Board of Certified Teachers (NBC) after receiving their official notification in December. These educators have achieved the highest professional credential in their field designed to promote excellence in teaching - McCool Academy Band Director Elgin Gregg, Monterey HS English Teacher April Graham, and Roscoe Wilson ES music Teacher Mandy Algate! Students from Lubbock and Coronado HS Mariachi groups competed at the Regional Mariachi Festival in El Paso earlier this year with both schools qualifying to compete at the UIL State Mariachi Festival in Seguin. Six Lubbock ISD band and choir students earned all-state honors from the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and the Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB). The all-state performing groups represent the pinnacle of musical recognition in band, choir, and orchestra in the State of Texas. Five students from Hutchinson MS secured a trip to the National Science Bowl after a tough competition at the Pantex Science Bowl in January. Their win at the Pantex Science Bowl earned them $1,000 for the school's science program and an invitation the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C. this April. Please join us in congratulating all of our amazing students and staff! We are so proud to have you in our Lubbock ISD family! 🌟🏅 #WeAreLubbockISD
