What is AVID?
AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is an elective class dedicated to closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and other postsecondary opportunities.
AVID:
Teaches skills and behaviors for academic success
Provides intensive support with tutorials and strong student/teacher relationships
Creates a positive peer group for students
Develops a sense of hope for personal achievement gained through hard work and determination
AVID Site Team
The MHS AVID Site Team meets the first Thursday of the month to promote AVID school-wide. It is composed of our AVID Elective teachers, Classroom teachers, Co-coordinators, and Administrators.

AVID College Signing
The AVID Senior Class of 2019 participated in the first annual AVID College Signing. 35 AVID seniors signed to continue on their education or to serve their country in the Armed Forces.
