Your Plainsman Packet is a helpful resource to share with a recommender when requesting a letter be written on your behalf.  

When requesting a letter of recommendation, please be specific about:

• who the letter is for

• what specific criteria the letter should address

• when the letter is needed

• where the letter should be sent upon completion

Please allow adequate time for a letter to be written- we generally ask for at least two weeks notice.

Remember that it is good etiquette to ask someone if they are willing to write on your behalf (don't assume) and then thank your recommender after the letter is written.
