IB Primary Years Programme Curriculum

In the Primary Years Programme, our curriculum centers on constructing and developing student understanding around concepts that are timeless and have global significance. We deeply believe that agency- voice, choice, and ownership- is a right that belongs to any learner in our building. We strive to use our state standards to support and develop an understanding of big ideas that transcend the traditional content areas and disciplines, leading to a transdisciplinary approach to learning and teaching. For example, a student could be discussing a concept such as order or interdependence in math and writing as well as in PE and music. We embrace input from everyone involved in our school community and feel that they, too, have a voice, choice, and ownership in the success of our students. These pieces come together to provide a forward-thinking education, equipping our students to influence the 21st century and beyond.
