The Monterey Decathlon Team had a successful competition at our city meet yesterday! Our team was 2nd overall, took 2nd and 3rd in super quiz, and earned 31 individual awards:
In the honors division:
- Grayson Hastings earned 3rd in interview and literature,
- Jason Ye earned 2nd in Math and 3rd in Social Science
- Annie Luft earned 3rd in Economics and Art
- Jaydon Manley earned 1st in interview and 2nd in Social Science
- Jaxx Laws earned 2nd in Social Science.
In the scholastic division:
- Casin peek earned 3rd in Essay and Science and 2nd in Music
- Will Canuel earned 3rd in Literature
- Sienna Cano earned 3rd in Social Science
- Rhiannon Peterson earned 3rd in Economics
- Micah Hohbein earned 2nd in Literature and science, 1st in Music, Art, and Social Science, and was first scholastic overall in the competition!
In the varsity division:
- Drue Martinez earned 2nd in essay
- Emersyn Hatcher earned 1st in Essay, Music, Art, and Social Science
- Aeryn Washburn earned 2nd in speech
- Obsidian Beavers earned 1st in Literature and 2nd in Science and Economics.
This competition also determined our final 9 team members that will travel with us to region and beyond, please congratulate all of our decathletes, but especially our Region bound team: Honors, Annie Luft, Grayson Hastings, Jason Ye, scholastic, Rhiannon Peterson, Casin Peek, Micah Hohbein, and varsities, Emersyn Hatcher, Aeryn Washburn, and Obsidian Beavers.
