Detective Pena of the Lubbock Police Department spoke with our 6th grade Astronauts this week about analyzing and finding the evidence they need to solve cases. This event launched our Astronauts into their first week project of analyzing real life mysteries and using evidence to infer what actually happened! #McCoolAcademy

McCool Academy Astronauts were assigned the task to design an astronaut patch that represented our school and the impact that Shuttle Columbia had on our lives. Before designing the patch, our astronauts learned about Shuttle Columbia and Commander William C. McCool through a video and class discussion. Each learner had to answer the following questions: " How did the Astronauts on Shuttle Columbia impact the world forever? How did they impact you as a person? If you could tell the astronauts one thing, what would you tell them?" This year's patch design is available for purchase! TTU is hosting a STEM Camp for Middle Schoolers! What a great opportunity for our Astronauts! Students will learn robotics programming in the mornings and participate in various STEM activities in the afternoons. All of this - complete with fun prizes too throughout the week!
