The Speech and Debate Team turned in a dominating performance this past weekend at West Texas A and M University–one of our region’s most competitive Texas Forensic Qualifying tournaments, by winning 1st place overall for the team sweepstakes awards. Congratulations to the following students for helping to bring home the championship. International Baccalaureate (IB) juniors spent Wednesday in the LHS Library learning about the Extended Essay, the major research paper component of the IB Diploma Program. Over the next 18 months, students will engage in research over their chosen topic and develop a 4,000 word academic paper.

For the first time in Lubbock High School history, the LHS Mariachi De Oro will perform with the Texas Tech University Symphony Orchestra on Sunday October 29th at the Allen Theatre located in the Student Union Building at Texas Tech University. Join us for this very exciting collaboration!
