Advanced Academics
Lubbock High School is home to the most robust Advanced Academics department in the Panhandle. We offer more than 40 AP and IB courses, and we are the only school in West Texas with not one but two incredible pathways for upperclassmen, offering juniors and seniors the AP Capstone (AP Cap) or the International Baccalaureate (IB) routes.
The IB and AP class of 2020 received $10 million in scholarship offers and were accepted to some of the most prestigious universities in the world: Harvard University, M.I.T., Pepperdine, Cornell University, Rice University, University of Texas, Baylor University, Oxford University, University of Alabama, Boston University, Creighton, Indiana University, University of Washington, University of Pennsylvania, Southwestern, University of Minnesota, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, our very own Texas Tech University, and many more.
Our academic programs thrive because of dedicated faculty who are experts in their field(s) committed to our students’ world class education and because of students who embrace the challenge, hold themselves to high standards, and foster an academically-minded culture wherein personal growth and scholarship are paramount.
