🌟 Grateful for Our Students: Mentoring at Commander William C. McCool Academy
There are so many reasons to be grateful for our amazing student body at LHS. One that stands out is their willingness to engage with and mentor younger students in our community. Recently, our JROTC, Golf, and Speech and Debate teams exemplified this spirit during their visit to Commander William C. McCool Academy. They shared valuable insights about high school life and brought fun and excitement to the younger students, showcasing the best of what our programs have to offer.

We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We'll see everyone back in school on Monday, Nov. 27!

Big cheers to our teachers who have been stepping up for morning duty - your dedication didn't go unnoticed! 🌟 To show our gratitude, we held a pie giveaway for the volunteers. Congratulations to the lucky winners! 🥧 And let's not forget our festive Plaid Day - swapping the usual routine for some colorful fun. Thank you teachers for 'plaiding' around and brightening our halls before the break! 🎉

We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We'll see everyone back in school on Monday, Nov. 27!

Before we go to break we wanted to invite 8th Graders and Families to our one-and-only 𝟠𝕋ℍ 𝔾ℝ𝔸𝔻𝔼 𝕆ℙ𝔼ℕ ℍ𝕆𝕌𝕊𝔼! This is the best way to learn about our specialty transfer programs (like International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, Navy Junior ROTC, Ballet Folklorico, and Mariachi) and other incredible course offerings (like AP Capstone, Robotics, Orchestra, Band, Choir, Dance, ALL THE SPORTS, and more clubs than you can possibly imagine).

Congratulations to Mrs. Shelly Hill, our Faculty Westerner of the Month for November! She is celebrated for her incredible dedication and inspiring influence. As a token of appreciation, Mrs. Hill has received a gorgeous flower arrangement, a dinner for two at Bubba's 33 , and a Premiere Cinema gift card. A well-deserved honor indeed! 🌹🎥🍔

🏀 Let's Go!!! Game Day is here! 🎉

Thank you to all of our amazing substitute teachers who step in whenever they are needed!

More than half of the Lady Westerner Volleyball Team was selected for the 2023 District 4-5A Academic All-District Recognition! Words cannot describe how proud we are to have each and every one of these athletes represent our program!

Introducing your All-District 4-5A Lubbock High Volleyball Recognitions for the 2023 Season! We are so proud of all of our athletes for being nominated and chosen for these awards!

🏆 Big congratulations to LHS Speech and Debate Team! 🎉 They've brought home multiple awards from the Bushland Tournament, including the prestigious overall team sweepstakes!

11th grader, Blaise Martinez, has been invited to present her research, the Analysis of Glacier Melt: Earth’s Changing Cryosphere Over Time, at the American Geophysical Union fall meeting. The AGU’s annual meeting holds 25,000 people from over 100 different countries. This meeting is composed of a huge community of scientists, educators, students, and policymakers who share research to better understand the planet. She will be presenting with her teammates this December in San Francisco. Congratulations Blaise!
